I think you are right.  Its been a while since I did anything with the
scsi's on the sparcs and things have clearly gotten muddled in my
mind.  The firmware format was only on the pci-adaptec for the x86.
Formatting on the sparcs was always done either from the SUNOS 4.x
install media or from Sunos.  The little that are in the sparc prom
was limited to probe-scsi.
