I ran 4.7x with Solaris 8 libs on an SS10 50MHz with ~192MB RAM
and it wasn't so slow that it was unusable. Did have a problem with
DNS resolution but set it up to use proxies was a workaround. I believe
this was on 1.5 ALPHA2.
