i thought your question was sillier (who on this list hasn't heard of MOP,
if you haven't you've never seen this hardware before) then i realized that
i sent this to port-sparc instead of port-vax!!

MOP is like tftp, but different/better.  all DEC machines can boot diskless
using MOP, and only about half of them understand tftp.  sorry about the
confusion!!!
