Guess  I need to start looking for a sound card for my DECstation 5000/200.

You say the new driver (I assume you mean the one in 1.5) has support for 
the external input/output dongle? I may wait for my bragging rights until 
1.5 is released, then.

At any rate, do you, or anyone else, know of a way I can bypass this audio 
check so that I can get Gnome running? TWM is really beginning to wear on 
my nerves.
