This is not my experience. As another message said...

...though that works only when the c partition begins at the same point
as, and is at least as large as, the partition you're trying to set up
as bootable. Since this is port-sparc, the c partition is the raw
partition, so the size issue is ignorable for this example; I mention
it because you can also use any other partition that satisfies those
two conditions - I often partition my disks with another partition
(typically i or p) identical to the a partition specifically so that I
can installboot easily.
