Ok, that's the problem. ps & friends (usually called 'kmem grovelers')
extract symbols from /netbsd, to read kernel memory. If the running
kernel is not /netbsd, kmem grovelers will get the wrong symbol table and
read data from the vrong address. Rename your kernel to /netbsd
(evenltually rename the 1.4.2 GENERIC kernel to /netbsd.old) and all should
work.
