port-sparc: NVRAM from IPC in IPX?

I have an IPC with flakey memory. I will soon have an IPX with dead NVRAM.
Can I take the NVRAM from the IPC and put it in the IPX? Will it not
explode? Will it work? I'd much rather have a working IPX than an IPC (which
doesn't work anyway due to the memory problems I haven't had the time to
figure out).
