   I have a big mac ethernet card in a sparc 5 running NetBSD 1.4K (but I
   saw the same issue with NetBSD 1.4).
   
   ifconfig reports a status of "no carrier" on be0, but traffic properly
   flows in and out of the card.
   
   I'm curious if this should properly display a carrier detect or if it will
   show "no carrier" no matter what.




FWIW, i see exactly the same thing with a "be0" card in an SS2.
