Harald,

I gave that a try and nothing.  If I use none as the media type I get an
error "device not configured".  Same if I try media type of 10baseT (which I
believe is the correct value).

As it turns out, I cant even ping my localhost, and on another machine on
the network I get errors...
	arp: ether address is broadcast for IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx!

Does this make my problem more or less complicated?
