Folks:

I've been rehabilitating an old Sparc 2 using NetBSD 1.4. With the
internal SCSI connector, I managed to sustain about 1.5 megabytes per
second to a Seagate wide disk drive (using a wide-narrow adapter).
Being somewhat disappointed with that, I dug up a QLogic fast/wide
adapter and plugged the drive into that. Know what? Still got 1.5
megabytes per second...

This disk drive will happily do 5 - 6 MB/s on a FreeBSD box.

Reading the dmesg output, I see that the QLogic driver has put the disk
into async mode. I assume that's the problem -- but how would I fix it?

Many thanks.

-David.
