Subject: xsm crashes if hostname is not set

If hostname is not set (ie, Amnesiac) is printed on the console or
tty logins, xdm is started, and a user attempts to log in, the
login fails and an xsm.core is left in the user's account.

Is this a known bug?  This might be a good thing to put in the
FAQ.
