Could you try the syboot-14.fs.gz image in

ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.4/sparc/installation/bootfs/

	It uses sysinst to install (which has a few rough egdes of its own
	:), but it should work OK.
