The trouble with crashes and spontaenous reboots is that even if something
gets logged to the console, the syslogd may not live long enough to capture
it and put it on the disk. This is why printing consoles are good, or using
another computer with a logging terminal emulator (I use a Macintosh Quadra
700 running MacOS 7.6.1 with good old MacTerminal 3.0; it'll keep on
logging stuff until the disk fills up, and I can cut&paste later with
complete accuracy).
