What source bits and makefile are needed for kernel only compiles?
I thought I remembered something in the INSTALL about that, but was
not sure on exactly what was required.  The entire tree takes up
a lot of space if only a kernel build and tapeboot compile is required.

Any suggestions and info on what changes were needed to which makefiles
are appreciated.
