The latest SPARC snapshot seems to work reasonably well.

It works reasonably well on my machine.
The current kernel only crashes occasionally 8^).

The latest SPARC snapshot seems to work reasonably well.

If you check the NetBSD/sparc64 web page you'll notice that the sparc64
port has not been officially released. In fact, no there has not been an
official snapshot built. Until quite recently we (O.K., fine I) didn't
have all the pieces to allow self-hosting. It's a bit difficult to load a
kernel without a bootblock.

However, I beleive most of those issues are now resolved, so stay tuned
for an official announcement soon (for some definition of the term
`soon').

In short, with enough perseverence and a cross-compiler, you can probably
get the machine up and running. However I would not recommend this for a
machine that will be subject to a high load or cannot afford down-time.
