If you are truly adventurous, you may look at Phrack magazine (one of
the latestm at www.phrack.com). They had an amusing article about
messing up SUN memory and eeprom from the boot prompt. I do not claim
that it is any useful and I had not tried any tricks. As far as I
remember, the password is stored in cleartext somewhere and you can
overwrite it.
