First, the CPU is way too slow to play MP3s.  Though it's _very_ efficient
given the speed (20MHz!), it is not efficient enough for MP3s.  <sigh>

The sound hardware isn't up to snuff, either.  It can only play sounds up to
8Ks/s, and most MP3s (decompressed) run at 44.1Ks/s.
