Sure it's "after much disk activity"?  Sure it isn't "when I try to bring up
a file requester, such as with right-click-Save Link As"?

I've had no problems with NS4.05, save that:  if ever I try to bring up a
Save Link As or other visual file requester, it crashes promptly.  (And the
funny thing is, the _exact_ same problem happens if I try the BSDI 1.1
version on an i386 box.)
