 * What sort of framebuffer? Do you have RASTERCONSOLE turned on in the
 * kernel? (What I really want to know is, is RASTERCONSOLE getting used?
 * Could you send dmesg output? I've seen glitches under SunOS that make
 * me suspect some bugs in the ROM console code for some framebuffers....)

I suspect the onboard GX (cg6); if he's not familiar with kernel building,
RASTERCONSOLE is turned on, otherwise not.

Seeing as I get the same thing with RASTERCONSOLE off on _my_ IPX,
I'm willing to bet it's a deficiency in the interrupt code on the
onboard GX.

It is interesting to note that JOVE/EMACS do not suffer from this same
problem.

Theorem #1: There are several ways to create a quantum black hole.
    - Butter a piece of bread and tie it, buttered side up, to a cat's back.
    - Launder any number of matched pairs of socks.
    - Divide by zero. Someone will disappear. It might be your lucky day.
