  This is *WEIRD*.

  So I rebuilt the kernel with options DIAGNOSTIC.  Same source
otherwise.  Now it's been running stably for days.  I've done 2 (well,
1.5 so far) make builds and the damned thing isn't crashing.

  Am I on crack?
