Subject: Is ELC memory non-parity or parity?

Tjo!

I have a question that I hope the port-sparc people
could answer:

Does the Sun Sparc ELC accept non-parity memory simms?

I've consulted the Sun hardware reference and talked with many
people about this but have not found an absolute answer.
The Sun hardware reference says that the SLC can not use the
same 4MB simms that the ELC uses, but it also says that
ELCs use _33_ bits instead of 32 or 36 which are the
usual definitions.
Some people say that the ELC can take non-parity since
the ELC memory cannot be moved to a SLC.

Has anybody tried to put non-parity simms in the ELC?
What's the verdict?

/^JN - Jesper Nilsson - confused.
