Subject: problems running NetBSD on 4m

I am trying to get NetBSD current running on a Sparc 5 (clone).
I have prepared and extensively tested the boot disk on a
sparc 2 (kernel has 4c and 4m in it).

On the sparc 2, everything runs perfectly.
On the sparc 5, SunOS runs perfectly.
When I pop the disk out of the 2, drop it into the 5, it
just doesn't quite work right. It boots up, but everything
just drops core. (a bus error here, segv there, an illegal
instruction, ...)

sparc 5 board is made by "Impro", supposedly fully
compatable with sun.

suggestions?
