Just a point of reference: My SS5 with a cg6 running Solaris 2.5.1
(non-negotiable) does the same thing when running nvi 1.79 on the
`sun' console. So, it's not just a NetBSD thing. A fix to nvi
(rather than working around it in the kernel) is probably preferable.
