Cool. After not having my QIC-150 drive work for a long time
with port-sparc, it is now happily running along. However, it will
never read or write a tape on the first try. Once I've tried once, it
then does everything pretty well fine. The following is from my dmesg
output:

st0(si0:4:0): medium error, info = 125 (decimal), data = 00 00 00 00 00 00
st0(si0:4:0): medium error, info = 125 (decimal), data = 00 00 01 30 00 00
st0(si0:4:0): medium error, info = 125 (decimal), data = 00 00 01 30 00 00
st0(si0:4:0): medium error, info = 106 (decimal), data = 00 00 01 30 00 00
st0(si0:4:0): medium error, info = 120 (decimal), data = 00 00 00 00 00 00

st0(si0:4:0): medium error, info = 101 (decimal), data = 14 b0 00 00 00 05
