I don't remember the details, they were posted a while ago to
port-sparc.  If you look at the Linux driver, look for those parts
that look like this:

if (xx->ledma){
}

I think one of the problems was related to not having the proper cable
attached to the sparc at boot time, I'm sure you will find those in
the archive.
