You may find that that drive does not auto-start at power on, and
that the probe-scsi does a UNIT START command. I am not sure if
the mi SCSI / esp drivers do this. Maybe time for another flag byte in
the drivers ?

You should find a jumper somewhere on the drive that lets it auto-start
at power up time.
