Yes, this happens to me with NetBSD/SPARC 1.0 and all versions of Netscape,
1.1N and 2.0beta[1-6]/2.0.

ld.so is in /usr/lib in 1.0 (why was it moved?) ...

You should try to get up to -current if you can; pk put some fixes shortly
after 1.1 came out into the VM system that made Netscape 2.0betaN notably
happier as a byproduct, according to eyewitness reports.

I have no problems with it here on ol' "isolar" (but it's 4.1.4 ... for now).

Well, Netscape - netscape_dns - is undoubtedly statically linked against
the SunOS 4.1.3_U1 libresolv.a, which is as old as the hills (circa 4.8.1).
Maybe there's some problem there? I use an "old style" /etc/resolv.conf,
and don't seem to have much of a problem with this ...
