I am trying to install NetBSD via ethernet onto a Sparc station 1.

Everything goes OK up to the second stage boot. Here's what I get:

b200 >> NetBSD BOOT [$Revision: 1.4 $]
boot: client IP address: 198.94.11.200
bootparamd: 'whoami' call failed
Can't open network device 'le(0,0,0)'
open: netbsd: Unknown error: code 72

The box I'm booting from is BSD 4.3, and doesn't know anything about
bootparamd. Should I be running bootparamd on my BSD server, or is this
some error internal to my sparc box?
