I have two minor problems with NB-1.1/sparc

Could you drop me a line if you know how to solve them? The machine is
a SS-1 clone from tatung, CG3 board.

1) The first login prompt after booting is in some unreadable
font. This includes echoing the characters the user types. The boot
messages are ok and the second bootprompt after a failed, too. When a
login times out (300 sec), the message that it is timed out is clean
but the following prompt 'NetBSD/sparc login:' is mangeld again. The
word 'NetBSD is always clear, it looks like the string '/sparc' is
filled with junk that makes terminal settings. It tried recompiling
init and getty, with no success.

2) At bootup, the SCSI controller code prints 'MSGIN failed'.
Here are the relevant lines:
> esp0 at sbus0 slot 0 offset 0x800000 pri 3: ESP100A 20Mhz, target 7
> scsibus0 at esp0
> esp: select step 2: what now? (step 2, stat 87, intr 18)
> esp0(0,0): MSGIN failed; trying alt selection
> esp: resetting SCSI bus

What does this message mean and how can I avoid it.

The machine works without problems. but I'm going to set up a copy of
the system for an ISP as a demo, and it just doesn't look good.

Thanks for any help.

Martin
