Just FYI,

I am using a SS2 without framebuffer, and the serial console is
almost fine. There are occasional glitches (like "Password:" being
printed on the same line as "login:", but only from the getty. The
"login" program handles the CR/LF stuff fine), but otherwise OK.

If no-one else uses a serial console, I will track the buglets down
and get them fixed.
