That's a question to ask them, not us. We don't know anything about
their plans regarding this.

My impression has long been that few employees from that era remain and perhaps even fewer documentation still exists. Five years ago an engineer was kind enough to transcribe bits of an _old_ spec to HTML, but he only had permission to release about half of it. The physical document itself was apparently quite difficult to come by.

I imagine we're basically SOL. The best hope would be for SGI to release driver source and other old IRIX bits that are clearly not derived from any other code. For the stuff we'd be interested in, I imagine this is mostly the case, but doing so officially would require expense on their part for no benefit.
