Hi Jared,

the macekbc apparently does not like booting w/o a keyboard or mouce
plugged in - this prevents GENERIC3x kernels booting with serial console.

(It just hangs in a tight loop, probably the mackbc interrupt handler - haven't
had time to dig deeper)
