i've built and installed an RC2 kernel and userland [1] and ran the same
stress test that crashed the RC1 kernel/userland [2] with minimal
problems.  the RC2 kernel did not crash.

scratch that, i have built a -current kernel.  i'll try it with the RC2
userland now.
