i'll ask tonight. (a bunch of (mostly) former sgi engineers get together
for margaritas, usually i can't go but i got lucky this week ;)

afaik, you could use the tport because it's a prom thing. i think the linux
folks have working X. (i don't pay attention because i use them for servers ;)
