The 4D/20 preceades the IRIS/Indigo(1) series and I believe uses the MIPS
R3000? processor. The R3000 is although supported somewhat by NetBsd, the
bus and other components are still unsupported. The Least machine I have
heard any level
of success on is the Indigo2 which uses the MIPS R4000 chip.

Nice mess you stirred, I have an Indigo2 that I would like to plop Linux
onto.. From my brief communications on this, NetBSD can be installed onto
the MIPS.. I am assuming Iris is an SGI box?? Correct me if I am wrong..

Ok, then someone needs to stir the pot and create a mess. =)

I have a Personal Iris 4D/20. What are the chances of me being able
to have netbsd running on it?
