Hi!

I'm running a system installed with Scotts tarballs and kernel.
The system won't compile a new kernel, world or any other program.
Looking into the config.log of a configure script it seems that
there is no libbfd installed. Doing a make build also fails.
I copied /usr/lib/libbfd* from my nfs-root system and now it
seems to work.

The tarballs don't come with libbfd:

$ for i in `ls -1 *.tgz` ; do tar tfvz $i |grep bfd; done
-r--r--r-- 0/0          238222 Nov 12 23:49 2001 ./usr/share/info/bfd.info
$

The 20011002 snapshot has the lib in comp.tgz.

FYI, Hendrik
