Hi!

I have an Indy (IP22, 200MHz, 192MB) and a kernel w/ scsi support.
The kernel recognizes the harddisk during the boot process.
I use root nfs and want to build a world with a destdir on the disk.

sd0 at scsibus0 target 3 lun 0: <COMPAQ, ST32550N, 6317> SCSI2 0/direct fixed
sd0: 2006 MB, 3511 cyl, 11 head, 106 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 4110000 sectors

When running "disklabel -i sd0" I could configure everything as wanted but
writing the label fails:

partition> a
Filesystem type [?] [unused]: 4.2BSD
Start offset [0c, 0s, 0M]: 0c
Partition size ('$' for all remaining) [0c, 0s, 0M]: 1900M
partition> b
Filesystem type [?] [unused]: swap
Start offset [0c, 0s, 0M]: 1900M
Partition size ('$' for all remaining) [0c, 0s, 0M]: $
partition> P
11 partitions:
# size offset fstype [fsize bsize cpg]
  a: 3891200 0 4.2BSD 0 0 0 # (Cyl. 0 - 3337*)
  b: 218800 3891200 swap # (Cyl. 3337*- 3524*)
  k: 4110000 0 unused 0 0 # (Cyl. 0 - 3524*)
partition> N
Label name [fictitious]: mydisk
partition> W
Label disk [n]? y
disklabel: ioctl DIOCWDINFO: Operation not supported by device
Label not written
partition>

On the console I get the following lines:

sd0: no disk label
SETDISKLABEL
WRITEDISKLABEL

Any hints ?

Thanks, Hendrik
