As someone who just owns the Star64, I would probably get the StarFive VisionFive 2 instead. Hardware wise they are pretty much the same, but on the software side of things it seems more supported.

I have not yet tried the vanilla Linux kernel on it, but the only real fork that was made for it was done by Fishwaldo, which was a fork of the StarFive fork and the repo by Fishwaldo seems kind of dead, but maybe it was upstreamed, no idea.

On the NetBSD side of things, from what I have tried the past 24 or so hours, there shouldn't be that much of a diffrence.

It mainly boils down to price.
