Actually I don't think that this is my bug? If I revert to using the
standard QEMU OpenBIOS without my residual data changes then I only get
the "kernel PGM trap @ 0" message when using the latest current build
ISO, and not the official 8.0 release ISO:

So looks like this error is related to something that has changed
between the 8.0 release back in July and last night's current build?
