wow. well, i suppose i get points for guessing. :)
i'm afraid you'll need something a little newer than that to
cross-build netbsd. the cross-build stuff works marvelously, but you
have to give it a bit more of a leg to stand on in order to allow it
to launch itself into orbit.
do you have spare disks you could plug into that sparc? you could
install a relatively recent netbsd/sparc snapshot onto something and
boot that in order to do the cross-compile much more easily...
