Hi all,

I have managed to get my hands on this wonderful old DECsystem 5000/200,
but it won't start. It is a server model with no graphics card. The
serial console (the one marked #3) is totally quiet when I turn the
machine on. It seems to be somewhat alive though, the power supply
fans are on, a green LED on the front is on, and the 8 diagnostic LEDs
on the back seem to say something to me. Here's what they say:

    0111.1110 for about three seconds
1011.1101 (or something similar) flashes very quickly,
then back to 0111.1110, repeats forever

I found some manuals on the net, and according to one of them, 0111 in
the left four LEDs indicates a faulty memory module in slot 0. I have
three memory modules to play with, but no matter which one I try I get
the same result.

However, if I try completely without memory in the machine I get this
on the LEDs:

    0111.1110 for about two seconds
0111.0011 after that, and it stays like this

Any thoughts?

Kind regards,
