port-pmax: Configuring X11 to run in my 5000/25

	Stupid question:  where can I find some info on how to 
configure X11 to run in my 5000/25 running 1.6.1?  I did try simply 
typing startx -- just for the heck of it -- and fell on my face:

katri# startx

QIOCGINFO ioctl failed: Permission denied
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 61
giving up.
xinit:  Connection refused (errno 61):  unable to connect to X server
