I'm getting the same behavior others have booting the install.gz kernel =
on my DECStation 3100. I downloaded the pmaxcd.iso image from =
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/iso/ today, March 17. I mounted =
the CD in my existing NETBSD 1.4.2 filesystem and copied the install.gz =
kernel image to the filesystem root. I rebooted the machine and issued =
a boot -f rz(0,0,0)install.gz command. The system loads the kernel, =
starts displaying the boot messages, but the characters are all =
reversed. The text is readable if I stare at it long enough =3D) There =
are no errors reported, and I get a prompt for terminal type. When I =
respond with pmax, the system is reponding that the terminal type is =
unknown. CTRL-C does give me a # prompt, and I can issue an ls command =
and get a listing. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Is there a =
problem with the install kernal not supporting 3100's?
System Details:
Color Framebuffer
VR299 Monitor
24MB RAM
Can provide more details if they will be useful. Any help would be =
appreciated,
Rob Mohr

Heh. And apparently ntpdate won't correct my time backwards.
The cvs was performed around Jan 3 10:00 UST.
