How would I go about mounting a MSDOS/Win95 disk SCSI hard disk? I have tried the following:

mount -t msdos /dev/rz2 /msdos

but it gives me an error:

Operation not supported by this device.

I have done the following: disklabel -e I rz2 and set partition (d,e,f,g) alternatively to

d: 2050860 0 MSDOS

as well as (assuming track 1 is not used by dos/win95)

d: 2050803 57 MSDOS

and it still does not work. Same error message. This also seems to corrupt the SCSI hard disk.

Any hints? I used Norton Diskedit to look at the first sector on the SCSI hardisk and it looked more like a DOS bootsector than a partition table. Is this supposed to be correct?

On IDE drives, the first sector is always a partition table. Does this apply to SCSI disks?

Ash
