Did you set the drive to 512 byte / sector? You have to open the two
jumperpads labeld "0" and "1" near the SCSI ID jumper block. Just cut
the small "bridge" between the pads.

I booted my DS5k240 from a XM-3401, but the second stage bootloader
faild. So it must work in principle with this drive.
