Is the PROM somehow read protected? Otherwise it would be easy 
just to take out a PROM from a DS with a working version and dump 
the contents to a file, with an EPROM programmer. With a 
programmer you could make as many copies of the PROM as you 
want (unless it's impossible to find compatible  programmable 
EPROMs on the market). The procedure is really simple.
