From your response, I assume you're saying that you cannot get a
1.4.2 kernel to netboot.  Since Chris has said he can load 1.4.2
kernels but not -current kernels on his machine, I suspect the
two problems are different.

You will now have to provide details of your tftp server, network
topology and some tcpdumps.
