Phil,

According to the models page, the KN02-CA v2.0m PROM can't TFTP
boot kernels over 1MB. (Which I'm guessing you knew) I've used
nfsnetbsd.ecoff from 1.4.1 successfully, but never tried on this PROM. I
don't suppose you have a mop client on your NT server do you? I seem to
recall someone saying that on some PROM's the kernel had to be an even
multiple of such and such a size to work correctly. nfsnetbsd from 1.4.2
is just barely over 1MB, I didn't check any of the other sizes. You might
also check your winzip settings to make sure that it isn't converting line
endings or doing anything that might upset your DECstation.
Beyond that, you might consider grabbing a SCSI box and using
suntar/rawrite/dd and write the install diskimage. If your box has a
floppy drive, you could put the install kernel on a floppy and use the
Ultrix booter to load the NetBSD kernel.
