The reason why maxine runs slower than 3max is, 3min and maxine were
designed as a 'lower-end' product line of DECstation/DECsystem family.
They have cut-half-speed TURBOchannel expansion bus and less costy
memory subsystem design.

For people who want to know about TURBOchannel design,

directory will serve as valuable information source. 'TURBO.ps' is
good for introductionary. Note that TURBOchannel was a product in the
age of Sbus, NuBus, MCA. At the age, 486 PCs had miserable ISA,
bulky-and-less attractive EISA, and bad-joke of VESA local bus.
