Mattias, I explicity said, except for Suns where the proms need it.
Did you miss the footnote -- you quoted the pointer to it-- or are you
trying to incite a flamewar :)?

No, it isn't. I'm saying we should turn the rarp/bootparam option off
by default, except on hardware that needs it. And say that
prominently.  Because rarpd/bootparamd is nonstandard, it's know to be
broken in w.r.t. of netmasks, and its less well supported.  That's not
heresy; that's a fact.

Yes, indeed. That's why I'm suggesting kernel configs for non-sun
boxes should turn off bootparam/rarp client support. Apart from those
broken or misdesigned machines which need it to netboot (i.e,. suns).
